LA PRAIRIE CASE STUDY - COVID 19

 

Situation

La Prairie Australia has partnered with Holly Gibbons on a number of occasions in lieu of supporting the wellbeing and performance of the La Prairie Australia team.   

Elements

During 2020, the global pandemic caused a lot of change and uncertainty.  Closed borders, periods of lockdown in NSW and extended periods of lockdown in Victoria meant that staff now needed to work from home for an extended period. 

In line with the value of Care, Rosi Fernandez, Managing Director of La Prairie for Australia and New Zealand sought to support the wellbeing and resilience of her people in this time of increased uncertainty and change.

Objectives

  • To help staff maintain their mental and emotional wellbeing during the pandemic

  • To support the people in releasing any stress that they were feeling as a result of the increased uncertainty during pandemic

  • To promote wellbeing

  • To increase communication and connection

How we worked with La Prairie in COVID 19

  • Weekly group mindfulness sessions
    Provided an opportunity each week for 30 minutes for people to zoom in to pause, take a breath, rebalance and revive for the week ahead.

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) mini-series “Calm and Clear”

    Entailed 4 weekly EFT sessions to release any stressful emotions such as worry and uncertainty to ensure people are able to feel calm and clear to focus on their day.

  • Wellbeing mini-series “Nourish & Evolve”

    Three-stage mini-series delivered over 6 weekly 30-minute zoom sessions, designed to help you nourish yourself, find a sense of inner peace and empower you on a path of personal evolution. 

 

Results

  • 100% of participants said that what they learned would help them deal with stress and overwhelm in their day.

  • 86% of participants said that the sessions helped them to shift their state of being.

With VIC in lockdown and some of the toughest restrictions imposed in the world, we turned to Holly to provide some clarity in the chaos and scary uncertainty of COVID.

With nearly 9 months of various lockdowns in VIC (3 months level 4 lockdown with all retail/beauty closed, curfews and no travel further than 5km per day), it created a lot of anxiety, fear and upheaval for our retail teams.

I was fortunate as La Prairie had already taken the management group through Mindfulness sessions with Holly when the first wave and restrictions hit Australia. Therefore, when we went into lockdown on 6th August, we turned to Holly again to guide us through the second wave.

Holly designed a wonderful 6 week mini-series for our VIC team exploring concepts through ‘'Nourish and Evolve’'. Our teams were thoroughly engaged each week and gained so much from the connection and mindfulness each week. It was a way to keep us together whilst we were apart and sharing our mixed emotions in a safe non-judgmental space.

Holly’s sessions were a perfect way to get our power back and master simple breathing techniques whilst exploring EFT (tapping) and meditation. 

I can honestly say we all felt better for joining in each week and taking the time for a ‘mental break’.
